나는 그림을 그리며 혼자 문답하는 과정에서 고민하며 의문시되는 것들을 시각적으로 표현하고 이는 나의 생각과 감정을 반영하는 형상이 된다.
이러한 문답의 회화공간은 ‘사유와 허구’라는 방식을 통해 형성된다. 사유의 방식으로 삶에 대한 고민이 걷기와 산책, 느림과 게으름, 수행과 묵상을 통해 형상으로 이루어진다. 허구의 방식은 서로 다른 시간과 공간, 역할들이 경계를 허물고 뒤섞이며 구분이 모호해지는 지점을 통해 형상으로 나타난다. 이렇게 형성된 문답공간에 유희와 휴식, 허무와 은일, 성찰과 치유의 특성들이 반영된다.
나의 그림을 통한 일탈은 현실로부터의 거리두기를 통해 생각할 수 있는 시간을 마련하는 것이기도 하지만 그 일탈을 통해 다시 일상성을 회복하는 것이기도 하다. 내가 하는 고민과 생각, 상상들이 남들과 크게 다르지 않을 터이다. 나의 흔적들을 보는 이들에게 삶이 너무 바빠 망각하고 있던 어떤 사유의 지점을 잠시나마 찾아볼 수 있는 쉼을 청해본다.
As I paint, I engage in a solitary dialogue, pondering and visually expressing the questions that arise—these become forms that reflect my thoughts and emotions.
This pictorial space of dialogue is shaped through the method of "contemplation and fiction." Through contemplation, my reflections on life take form via walking and strolling, slowness and idleness, discipline and meditation. Fiction operates through the blending of different times, spaces, and roles, dissolving boundaries and manifesting forms where distinctions become blurred. In this constructed space of dialogue, elements of play and rest, futility and seclusion, introspection and healing are reflected.
My detour through painting is not only a distancing from reality to create a space for thought, but also a path to return to everyday life anew. The questions I ask, the thoughts I harbor, the imaginations I pursue—perhaps they are not so different from those of others. To those who view the traces I leave behind, I offer a brief moment of repose, a pause to rediscover a point of reflection long forgotten in the busyness of life.
