이예림
이예림은 도시의 건축물과 구조물에서 사람의 내면을 읽어내는 작가다. 그녀는 서울, 뉴욕, 방콕, 상하이 등 대도시를 떠돌며 도시의 표정을 관찰하고, 견고한 건물들의 선과 구조를 통해 삶의 감정, 사람들의 흔적, 사라지는 존재들을 기록해 왔다. 그녀의 작업은 ‘직선적이지만 유기적’이고, ‘단단하지만 부드러운’ 모순된 감각 속에서 도시의 정서를 새롭게 들려준다. 이번 전시에서는 작가의 시선이 응축된 회화 신작들이 소개된다.
Lee Ye-rim is an artist who reads the inner world of people through urban architecture and structures. Wandering through metropolises such as Seoul, New York, Bangkok, and Shanghai, she observes the expressions of cities and records the emotions of life, traces of people, and vanishing existences through the lines and structures of solid buildings. Her work, described as “linear yet organic” and “solid yet soft,” evokes the sentiment of the city through a paradoxical sensibility. This exhibition presents a collection of new paintings that concentrate the gaze of the artist.
