임승현은 어린 시절의 기억, 동화적 상상력, 그리고 인간에 대한 따뜻한 응시를 중심에 둔 인물화를 그려왔다. 작가의 대표 연작인 《Catch the Rainbow》는 잡힐 듯 잡히지 않는 무지개를 좇는 항해의 은유를 담아낸다. 과장되면서도 순수한 얼굴들, 다정하게 왜곡된 몸짓 속에는 누구나 품고 있는 기억의 조각과 희미한 감정의 파동이 깃들어 있다.
Lim Seung-hyun has been painting portraits centered on childhood memories, fairy tale-like imagination, and a warm gaze toward humanity. Her representative series, Catch the Rainbow, conveys a metaphor of a voyage in pursuit of a rainbow—tantalizingly close yet always out of reach. Within the exaggerated yet innocent faces and the tenderly distorted gestures lie fragments of memories and faint waves of emotion shared by all.
