유용선
유용선은 강렬한 색의 대비와 캐릭터적 이미지를 통해 현대 도시의 욕망 구조를 해부한다. 광고, 브랜드, 인터넷 밈 같은 시각적 언어를 회화 속에 재조립하며, 익숙한 이미지가 낯설게 변주되는 순간을 포착한다. 그의 작품은 소비와 유희, 유머와 불안을 동시에 품고 있으며, 욕망과 쾌락을 재료로 사용하여 프레임 안에서 하나의 요리를 차려 나간다. 그 안에서 색은 다수의 오브제를 질서 있게 묶어 긴장과 균형을 조율한다.
Yongseon Yoo dissects the desire structure of the contemporary city through stark color contrasts and character like imagery. He reassembles the visual language of advertisements, brands, and internet memes within painting, capturing the moment when familiar images are transformed into something uncanny. His work holds consumption and play, humor and anxiety at once, setting a dish within the frame using desire and pleasure as ingredients. Within it, color binds a multitude of objects with order, calibrating tension and balance.
