우리는 세계를 정확히 인식한다고 믿지만, 실제로는 개인의 주관과 마음으로 세상을 바라봅니다. 세상은 끊임없이 변하기에 그 순간을 완벽히 기억할 수 없습니다. 제 작업은 인공물과 자연물이 함께 구성되어 있으며, ‘우리가 사는 세계의 실제는 무엇인가’라는 질문에서 출발합니다.
작품은 여러 층(Layer)으로 이루어져 있으며, 이 층들은 각기 다른 순간을 기록하고 공간을 형성합니다. 자연의 찰나적 장면들은 색과 형태로 옮겨져 다차원의 공간 안에 존재하며, 익숙한 현실을 낯설게 만들고, 우리가 보는 세계를 다시 바라보게 합니다.
그림은 다양한 이미지와 경계들이 교차하는 문(Gate)의 역할을 하며, 고정된 시선이 아닌 유연한 감각으로 세상을 바라보도록 유도합니다.
We believe that we perceive the world accurately, but in reality, we see it through personal subjectivity and the mind. Since the world is constantly changing, we cannot perfectly remember any given moment. My work begins with the question, “What is the reality of the world we live in?” and is composed of both artificial and natural elements.
The work is structured in multiple layers, each recording a different moment and forming a unique space. Fleeting scenes from nature are translated into color and form, existing within a multidimensional space. This renders familiar reality unfamiliar, prompting us to reconsider the world we see.
The painting functions as a gate where various images and boundaries intersect, encouraging us to view the world not with a fixed gaze, but with a flexible sensibility.
