우리의 생각은 끊임없이 변화하고 확장되며, 다양한 단면을 마주한다. 하나의 사고는 여러 갈래로 펼쳐지며, 다양한 시선과 해석을 통해 새로운 의미를 만들고 작가는 이러한 사고의 흐름을 시각적으로 담아낸다.
‘단면(Facets)’이라는 단어는 보석의 여러 면이 빛을 반사하듯, 하나의 생각도 다양한 관점에서 다채로운 결을 형성함을 의미한다. 작가는 회화적 표현을 통해 사고의 과정이 조형적으로 구현되는 방식을 탐구하며, 직관과 감각이 교차하는 지점에서 사유의 조각들을 풀어낸다. 형태와 색채, 구조와 흐름이 서로 어우러지며 예측할 수 없는 새로운 시각적 리듬을 만들어낸다.
이 과정에서 관람자는 작품을 통해 정해진 의미를 찾기보다, 사고의 경계를 허물고 스스로 사유를 확장하는 경험을 하길 바라며, 또 다른 사유의 단면이 펼쳐지길 기대한다.
Our thoughts are in a constant state of transformation and expansion, encountering numerous facets along the way. A single idea branches out in multiple directions, shaped by diverse perspectives and interpretations, giving rise to new meanings. The artist captures this fluid stream of thought through visual expression.
The word "facets" refers to the many surfaces of a gemstone that reflect light in different ways. Similarly, a single thought unfolds into various textures and layers depending on the viewpoint from which it is observed. Through painterly expression, the artist explores the process of thought taking form, unraveling fragments of contemplation at the intersection of intuition and perception. Shapes, colors, structures, and movements interweave, creating an unpredictable and ever-evolving visual rhythm.
Rather than seeking predetermined meanings within the works, the viewer is encouraged to break away from the boundaries of thought, engaging in an open-ended exploration of ideas. In doing so, new and unexpected facets of thought may emerge.
